Allergy Panel Test
Allergies, manifestations of hypersensitivity in the immune system, trigger adverse reactions to specific substances such as food, dust, pollen, drugs, or animal dander. These reactions are unique to individuals and are incited by allergens. Immunoglobulin E (IgE) serves as the antibody produced by the body during allergic responses. While the Total IgE test gauges overall IgE levels in the blood, it doesn’t pinpoint the specific allergen responsible for the reaction.
The Allergy – Vegetarian + Nonvegetarian Panel employs the ImmunoCAP technique for a comprehensive food allergy screening, assessing the body’s response to 22 commonly consumed vegetarian and non-vegetarian ingredients. This panel aids in determining the source of allergies, guiding subsequent treatment decisions. Additionally, it checks allergen-specific IgE levels.
Designed specifically for the Indian population, this allergy panel is tailored to identify IgE-mediated allergies to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods, encompassing a total of 22 allergens.
The purpose of the Allergy-Vegetarian+ Non-Vegetarian Panel is to pinpoint the precise cause of suspected allergies to commonly consumed vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods. These allergies often manifest with digestive symptoms such as diarrhea but can also affect the skin or respiratory system, leading to hives, itching, runny nose, sneezing, coughing, and shortness of breath. In severe cases, anaphylactic shock may occur, prompting further targeted testing based on these symptoms.
